Measuring Trousers
Trouser measurements
1) Close the trouser buttons and lay out flat on an even surface.
2) The waist is measured from side to side of the waistband. Gently pull waist flat from each side before measuring. This measurement is then multiplied by two (e.g. 17 x 2 = 34" waist)
3) The rise is measured from the back waistband down to the lowest point of the crotch. Gently pull fabric at crotch before measuring.
4) For inside leg, hem and knee measurements, fold trousers along the crease and lay flat. Lift leg out of the way as illustrated.
5) The inside leg is measured from the point where the leg seam meets crotch seam, down to the hem.
6) Hem is measured from side to side of the trouser hem opening.
7) Knee measurement is taken 13 Inches down from crotch seam, measured across from side to side.
8) Extra fabric refers to how much spare fabric there is inside to allow for lengthening.
